Shade Ninja è una degli Autobots più piccoli ma ciò non rappresenta un problema per lei, dal momento che in questo modo riesce a sfruttare appieno le proprie capacità di spionaggio. Oltre che una spia è una silenziosa assassina e una feroce guerriera nella lotta corpo a corpo, ed utilizza con maestria una devastante katana ninja laser. Possiede molte abilità, armi e una velocità sorprendente, che compensano alcuni dei suoi difetti, quali la scarsa potenza di fuoco e le sue piccole dimensioni, che la portano in svantaggio contro avversari molto più grossi. Ha un'indole buona, combattiva e molto paziente, ma nonostante agisca sempre a fin di bene per gli Autobots e l'umanità, è disposta a tutto ed è pronta a sacrificare molte delle regole d'onore per arrivare ai propri scopi, non curandosi del giudizio altrui, purchè non metta in pericolo i propri compagni o degli innocenti. A volte viene mal vista dagli Autobots guerrieri più devoti alla lealtà e non a caso viene considerata "pericolosa" da alcuni di loro. Ciò comunque non significa che non tenga ai compagni e infatti, quando questi si trovano in difficoltà, viene mossa da istinti vendicativi che la portano a rivelare altri aspetti del suo carattere, come la spietatezza e l'aggressività. Silenziosa, abile ma anche gioviale di carattere in circostanze normali, ha una grande passione per i videogames e adora ammirare i panorami avvolti nel tramonto e nella notte. E' la ragazza di Bumblebee e come tale è innamorata di lui: spesso e volentieri lo segue nelle sue operazioni.

Abilità fisica: agile, veloce e fisicamente forte. Stile micidiale di lotta acrobatico e rapido, a lunga e corta distanza, atto a cercare subito la fine degli scontri. Le dimensioni piccole la rendono adatta all'infiltrazione. Eccellenti le capacità strategiche, oltre a quelle di combattimento.

Modalità:
3: normale, infiltrazione (aggiunta di maschera sul volto e chiusura del casco se non vengono utilizzati i kunai), motoveicolo.

DIFETTI - malus


-Scarsissima potenza nelle armi da fuoco, è incapace di utilizzarle poichè manca di precisione e familiarità. Lenta ricarica.
-Lunghi tempi per le capacità autorigenerative, eseguibili solo in condizioni ottimali (fuori dalla battaglia). 1 ora su danni lievi, 3 su danni medi.
-Altissima sensibilità alle fonti di luce troppo elevate.

Difetti fisici: ha minore resistenza contro gli avversari più grandi, a causa delle piccole dimensioni; scarse protezioni; necessita di una certa quantità di carburante per una totale attività.

Difetti armi (escluse: Ninja-to Laser - danni molto elevati e Kunai - danni elevati su perforazione):
-mini cannone - potenza di attacco da fuoco molto scarsa;
-shuriken - adatti a colpire solamente punti sensibili, breve gittata di lancio;
-bombe - breve durata negli effetti stordente e accecante;
-veleno corrosivo - danni di lieve entità, ma progressivi se non viene effettuato un rimedio. Può essere utilizzato una sola volta;

STORIA
Originariamente, Shade Ninja era una ragazza italiana di nome Elena.
Spinta a praticare le arti marziali all'età avanzata di 15 anni, scoprì di possedere sorprendenti abilità nell'arte del ninjutsu. Fu notata da un sensei durante un'importante rappresentazione, che la indulse a volare negli Stati Uniti per ottenere un incontro con il più grande esponente della disciplina del ninjutsu, il Sensei Masaaki Shintaro.
Fu così che venne allenata e forgiata da Masaaki, divenendo un ninja e una spia al servizio delle forze militari. Qui fece la conoscenza di altri due maestri dello spionaggio: Joe Hacker, un americano dal carattere serio e superficiale, ed Enyo Llywelyn, un irlandese dall'animo altruista e tranquillo.
Con loro lavorò per molti anni, sino a quando non furono incaricati di indagare su un'importante scoperta extraterrestre (un materiale in grado di rivestire e rendere indistruttibili le superfici, il Cyron) presso un'accademia scientifica.
Durante la missione furono intercettati da Megatron, capo dei Decepticons, che li catturò e li imprigionò all'interno della sua fortezza. Megatron, impossessatosi di un congegno in grado di donargli una forza illimitata, decise di impadronirsi del Cyron per divenire infine invincibile ed immortale.
Successivamente, durante un attacco agli Autobots in cui furono costretti a fuggire, Bumblebee e Spike vennero catturati come ostaggi da Megatron stesso, ma grazie ai disastrosi litigi fra Starscream e i restanti Decepticons, riuscirono a fuggire e a liberare Elena e i suoi colleghi. Dopo mille peripezie in cui alla fine Megatron si trovò a perdere la battaglia, riportarono la normalità e poterono riprendere la quotidiana routine.
Tuttavia, durante la prigionia Joe tradì i suoi compagni per gelosia nei confronti di Elena: la ragazza aveva infatti manifestato interesse per Bumblebee, il robot che l'aveva salvata e accudita. Fu così che i due, con il tempo, divennero sempre più amici ed inseparabili. Durante le missioni spionistiche, spesso e volentieri Elena lo accompagnava come supporto e viceversa lui la accompagnava agli allenamenti di ninjutsu. Alla vigilia di un importante esame, Bumblebee le regalò una sciarpa nera come porta fortuna, che lei iniziò a portare sempre con sè.
Passò ancora del tempo prima che Bumblebee venne gravemente ferito durante una missione. Elena, sentitasi impotente nelle sue umane spoglie, decise quindi di sottoporsi ad un esperimento di Wheeljack, in grado di scomporre la sua materia per tramutarla in quella di un robot.
L'esperimento riuscì e nacque Shade Ninja, il robot ninja che si trasformava in una moto.
Dopo essere stata sottoposta a diversi test e dopo averne rilevato ogni capacità, Optimus Prime la mandò nuovamente in missione insieme a Bumblebee, conquistando successi e vittorie. I due, sempre più legati e affiatati sentimentalmente, furono presi di mira dai Decepticons in un giorno di apparente tranquillità. Indotti in una trappola mortale, si ritrovarono a combattere da soli contro tutti, Megatron compreso, conscio del pericolo che i due rappresentavano per i propri scopi.
Durante l'attacco Shade Ninja sacrificò sè stessa per salvare la vita di Bumblebee, facendosi colpire al posto suo dal cannone di Megatron. Vi fu un'incredibile ed accidentale esplosione che coinvolse tutti i presenti, Decepticons compresi, ma fortunatamente Bumblebee si riprese. Con disgrazia dovette accettare la realtà: di Shade Ninja non era rimasto niente, se non l'effige Autobot strappata dalla violenta esplosione. Con il cuore devastato, fece ritorno da solo alla base e per lunghissimi mesi non partecipò a nessuna delle missioni proposte, chiudendosi in sè stesso. Depresso fino al midollo, fu solo con l'aiuto di Spike che alla fine si decise a uscire dall'Arca. I due fecero un giro insieme per la città con lo scopo di distrarsi dai ricordi, tuttavia per Bumblebee fu impossibile togliersi dalla testa colei che aveva amato.
Così impossibile che gli parse di intravedere, in un parcheggio, una moto nera con una sciarpa legata intorno ad un manubrio, che emetteva luce a intermittenza dai gruppi ottici. Preso da un'improvvisa speranza euforica si catapultò immediatamente verso il parcheggio, deciso a controllare, ma in quel medesimo giunse una ragazza del tutto sconosciuta, che salì sulla moto nera e partì. Bumblebee tentò invano di inseguirla, fino a che non perse le sue tracce.
Ma ben presto sarebbe stato destinato a incontrarla ancora: durante il rientro alla base venne infatti sorpreso nuovamente dai Decepticons, che fecero prigioniero Spike. Stavano per indurlo ad arrendersi e lasciarsi uccidere in cambio della vita dell'amico, quando improvvisamente una lama kunai si inchiodò nella testa di uno dei Decepticon. Fu un istante: qualcuno attaccò i nemici con una furia incredibile, ma era così veloce che non si riusciva a vedere. Quando la battaglia cessò e i Decepticons fuggirono per scampare a morte certa, Bumblebee vide un robot dinnazi a lui che gli dava le spalle, con una katana ninja al posto della mano destra, il volto girato di profilo che mostrava un sorriso sulle labbra ed una sciarpa nera che volteggiava nel vento. "Sono tornata, Bumblebee."
Shade Ninja, semi distrutta dall'esplosione ma riparata perfettamente con l'aiuto degli umani, era tornata.
Da allora, Bumblebee non si separò mai più da lei e sancì il suo legame d'amore.

Nota: durante l'esplosione, Shade Ninja non riuscì a proteggere Bumblebee, ma per istinto protesse la sciarpa che lui le aveva regalato, ponendola all'interno del proprio corpo. Quasi totalmente distrutta, riuscì a ritirarsi con le proprie ultime forze e ad iniziare il processo di auto riparazione di cui era dotata, rifugiata in un canale fognario. Un lembo sporgente della sua sciarpa venne notato da un ragazzo e da una ragazza, esperti meccanici in riparazioni generiche altamente sofisticate. I due, quindi, la scoprirono e l'aiutarono a riprendersi. In cambio, Shade Ninja offrì loro protezione a aiuti vari nelle loro ricerche, sino a quando non fu pronta per tornare all'Arca (e, in special modo, da colui che non aveva mai dimenticato).
Una volta ritrovato Bumblebee, Shade Ninja venne comunque sottoposta ad una visita di Ratchet, che la riparò al 100%, consentendole una piena ripresa.
